SYNOPSIS for Never Look Back:

A relationship gone bad.......

Decisions to be made.......

Jennifer Davis entered into a relationship with Brian Collins never knowing what she was really getting into. What may have been happy and surreal in the beginning, didn't take long to fall apart, and quickly turned out to be one of the worst decisions she has ever made. When an evening with Brian goes terribly wrong, she leaves during the night hoping to put it all, including him, behind her.

Todd Williams knows exactly what he wants in life. He's about to finish school and has plans to take over the family business. He never thought he would be called upon to help a friend in a time of need especially when things are about to take off with his career.

Just weeks ago, Todd met Jennifer and assisted her when she and Brian were involved in a dispute. He immediately intervened and offered her support while making her promise she would call on him if she were ever in trouble. While he never thought he would hear from her again, especially in another crisis situation, Jennifer calls upon Todd for his help.

Through sleepless nights, threatening phone calls, and living in fear of being discovered, Jennifer leans upon Todd and his family for their support to never look back and dwell on previous mistakes, but to become stronger, and, most of all, to be happy again. After all, it's not just her she's trying to protect anymore.

But, will Jennifer be able to heal and move forward despite her past? Is she ready for all of the new feelings that are suddenly happening every time she's near Todd? And she's not the only one struggling with new emotions. Is Todd ready to offer her his heart, to love and trust a man again, all while balancing his career and accepting the one thing that will always connect her to Brian?

Never Look Back.

Never Look Back is the conclusion in the two-part Coming Home Series. Find out how it all started in book one, Don't Turn Back.

Excerpt 1

“Are you comfortable, little bird?” I ask, walking to the other side of the bed.
“Fuck you.”
“Now, now, I thought I had already established that is not the purpose of this intrusion.”
“Well then what the fuck do you want from me? Are you here to watch me do myself? Are you here to kill me? Are you going to sit there and wait until I confess my darkest secrets to you? Or do you want me to do a little dance for you, huh?” she muses. “Because I sure as hell have no clue why the fuck you are in my room, trying to fucking blow my brains out!”
I laugh and shake my head at her outburst. Grabbing her other hand, I secure it to the bedpost and tie up her last remaining free limb. Strapping it up nicely until she hisses from the pain, I say, “None of that.” I wink. “Or maybe all of them.”
“Oh, screw you! I don’t deserve any of this. What have I ever done to you?”
I frown, gazing down upon her. Her eyes speak the truth. “You don’t remember, do you?”
Her eyes widen and her lips part. It takes her a few seconds to answer. “Remember what?”
“Everything.”

Synopsis
This isn't your Typical Everyday fairytale.
This story isn't sweet or sugary.
Instead...
It's Raw and Dark
It's Rough and Dangerous
And It's Definitely not for kids under 17 years of age.

So turn back now if you're not ready for Lyric and Blaire's story. Because shit just got Real.

“I’ve learned a lot this past year, but there are two things I’ll never forget: one, People aren’t what they seem, and two, I fucking hate liars.” –Blaire

Blaire Morgan was a quiet, grief stricken girl when she left Mobile, Alabama, a year ago after her brother’s unexpected death. She returns a year later with fresh wounds from another betrayal, and she’s not the same person. A woman letting her tortured past rule her life, her “take no shit” attitude is catching the attention of everyone that crosses her path, including the bad boy front man of Lyrical Obsessions—the new band that plays at Jay Jay’s. When she learns he has something she wants, she plans on doing whatever it takes to get it.

What is a demon? An evil spirit possessing a person, acting as a tormentor in Hell?

Lyric “The Demon” Devereux is that tormentor and Hell is any place he sees fit, either in the fighting ring or on the streets. He killed his first person at seventeen years old, and that list has grown over the years—as well as his list of enemies—but his biggest enemy is himself and he doesn’t know how to win that battle.
When Blaire comes into town like wildfire and turns heads, Lyric’s temper emerges—uninvited and unexpected. His plan to stay at a distance for her safety, and his sanity, changes when she continuously shows up with her defiance and seductive pull. He now has no choice but to face his past that could possibly destroy the both of them.

Tempers will detonate. Lust will consume. Truth will destroy. But will love forgive?

Review

This book.....just....wow!  This was the third book I have read by R.D. Cole and it did NOT disappoint.

In this book we get to learn more about Blaire and why she hates Trudy so much (the main character from Learning to Live).  We find out where she went and what she has been doing with her time since the death of her brother Benji.  The things that she went through during this time are heartwrenching.

The chemistry between Blaire and Lyric is evident in the beginning.  Lyric is your typical bad boy who is not afraid of Blaire and her moods.  I loved getting to see how their relationship blossomed and how they were there to save each other in the end.

This book is darker than the first two in the series but it worked.  I couldn't put it down because I wanted to know what was going to happen next.  The whole series is fantastic and I can't wait to read more from Ms. Cole!

5 stars!

Excerpt
I walk in, but leave the door open. My eyes stay on her as I approach. I see fear at first, but she pushes it away and replaces it with that stubborn trait I’m learning she has. She crosses her arms and looks up when I’m close, refusing to move. “Last night, you asked me for something. Remember?” “To go to hell?” I smirk because this game we play is a fucking thrill for me. “Oh, honey. I’ve already been to hell.” I stand in front of her an inch away expecting her to cower, but she doesn’t. Should I make this soft and gentle like before or should I make it punishing for possibly being a part of Polesky’s team? I roll my neck and let it pop in several places before I swiftly grab her by the waist and pull her tight body to me. Her breath hitches and she freezes, but not in fear. In anticipation. It’s written all over her face. My other hand grabs her by the nape of her neck, and I feel the softness of her bright, red hair between my fingers. “You asked for this.” Then I lower my lips to hers. I want it to be punishing, to show her how much of an asshole I am, but I can’t. I have a deep feeling she needs the exact opposite. Nipping her bottom lip, I taste her cherry lip-gloss while I massage the tension in her neck. She exhales softly and tentatively opens her mouth. My tongue dives into the moist warmth between her lips, and I savor every fucking millisecond I’m there. I don’t know when or if I’ll be able to kiss her again. Timidly her tongue starts to move against mine before her hands reach up to grab my shoulders. I feel her nails bite into my skin through the fabric of my t-shirt, but it feels fucking amazing. After this, I stop moving and let her take control. Let her feel me like I said she would last night. Let her savor every touch, every feeling I arouse in her. But in all honesty, I’m feeling her. I know without a doubt that this kiss is one I’ll never forget. The hand on her waist slowly traces up her ribs, over her exposed collarbone, and across her erratic pulse. When both hands are cupping her cheeks, I once again take over the kiss that is on its way to becoming feverish. She moans, and a growl forms in my chest. She swallows it just as her hands grab at the nape of my neck to hold me close. Feeling my dick become stone hard against her stomach, I pull away. We stand there, breathing hard enough to fan one another’s face, while my hands remain cupping her flushed cheeks. Then I let go of her, turn around, and walk out the front door knowing, without a doubt, I’m in deep shit. Learning Series

Hard Knox by Nicole Williams

Knox Jagger. The name inspires resentment in every male at Sinclair University, want in every female, and contempt in Charlie Chase.

Charlie can be summed up in three words: independent, independent, and independent. To Charlie, Knox epitomizes everything that’s wrong with college males: prolific one-night stands, drunken senseless fights, and a body that hints at prioritizing gym time over study time.

As an up-and-coming writer for Sinclair University’s newspaper, Charlie’s tasked with getting to the bottom of who’s been dropping little white pills into girls’ drinks at parties. In an ocean of All-American boys sporting polo shirts and innocent smiles, Knox is the obvious suspect. As evidence piles up against the bad boy of Sinclair, Charlie becomes more and more certain it isn’t Knox. But when her drink is dosed at a party and she wakes up on Knox’s couch the next morning, Charlie’s left with more questions than answers when it comes to Knox Jagger.

How can Charlie ever hope to uncover the truth behind a guy so closed off he’s become . . .

Hard Knox.

***Hard Knox is the first book in The Outsider Chronicles, although each book that follows will highlight different couples and can be read as a stand alone.***

He reached into his pocket and pulled out his ipod. “Put on some music if you like.”
I took it, letting my fingers glide over his. His eyes darted toward me briefly and my heart jumped. I quickly looked down, busying myself with his music collection. I ran through artists until I came across Severed. Smiling, I clicked play.
“You have your own music in here,” I said with a giggle.
He shrugged. “If I don’t appreciate it, then why should I expect anyone else to?”
“I guess. I just think it’s cute. Like an actor going to see themselves at the cinema.”
“You don’t think Nic Cage or Brad Pitt go to the movies?” he asked in mock horror.
“I don’t know. I met Brad Pitt once in Starbucks.”
He chuckled. “I can just imagine how that went down.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?” I asked, narrowing my eyes.
“Well, you were kind of freaked out when you realized who I was. Meeting someone actually famous? You’d lose the plot,” he laughed.
“Well, in my defense, I didn’t have posters of Brad Pitt all over my walls—” I shut my mouth, but it was too late. No, no, no…
“You had posters of me on your walls?” he repeated, amused. “Micah, that is adorable.”
“Shut up,” I mumbled, coving my face with my hands. He chuckled loudly next to me, clearly not ready to let this go. “No! No laughing. Just shut up and drive.”

They grabbed their wineglasses and headed toward the
sound of Brynn’s smooth alto voice and the sharper squawk
that generally meant Marnie was in full-out “impress” mode.
Sophie hoped her sister’s new man-friend was adept at
flattery and pleasant niceties, because he was going to need
a hefty dose of social skills to maneuver his new girlfriend’s
overprotective father and eager-for-grandbabies mother.
She shuffled after Will into the “drawing room,” mentally
preparing herself for mind-numbing conversation with one
of Brynn’s adoring drones.

Sophie halted to a stop so suddenly that some of her wine
sloshed over the edge of her glass and onto Marnie’s pristine
white carpet.

Her mother made an exasperated sound, but a little
spilled Chardonnay was the least of Sophie’s worries.

Oh.
My.
God.
It was him.

The man from the Las Vegas elevator standing in front
of her like some sort of icy-eyed ghost. And he had an arm
around her sister’s waist.

Oh, holy crap.

The aged gouda she’d just swallowed began churning in
the wine tsunami of her stomach.

Will pinched her upper arm none too gently, and Sophie
belatedly realized that her sister had finished introductions.
Everybody was staring at her, including Mr. I’m Not
Looking for an Escort Service. She had so not missed that
deadly sexy gaze. Emphasis on the “deadly” part. Still, it
was reassuring that he too looked a bit shell-shocked. He
didn’t say a word, but based on what she knew of him, she
didn’t really expect him to.

The ball was clearly in her court.
