Review of Don't Turn Back

Don't Turn Back by Amy Stephens
#1 of a 2 part Series

Rating: 4 stars

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book had me on the edge of my seat the whole time I was reading it. Jennifer is a very sweet, trusting girl who opens her heart to Brian, a guy she just met. Brian was kicked out of his ex-girlfriend's house and drives to Morgantown to start over. He had to live in his car because he had no money and no job. Jennifer strikes up a friendship with him and things progress from there. I can honestly say I was unsettled about Brian and his past while I was reading! Their relationship just progressed so fast!

The one thing that bothered me about this book wad the terms of endearment used between Jennifer and Brian. I know this may seem crazy to some of you, but I just didn't understand how two people who barely knew each other started calling reach other babe, baby, and hun.

I'm very excited to read the second book and to finish the story between Jennifer and Brian.

Review of Rome by Jay Crownover

Rome by Jay Crownover
#3 in the Marked Men Series

Rating: 5 stars

I must say Rome gave Rule (Marked Men #1) a run for his money. Those Archer boys are something!

Rome is an ex-military man who is struggling with finding his place in life and battling PTSD. Cora is looking for a perfect man and a happy ever after. When she meets Rome she is not happy with his attitude because he is being rude to those closest to her.  Rome doesn't care for the way Cora tells him how it is, even though it's what he needs to change his ways.

The fireworks soon start flying between Rome and Cora!  Cora is extremely guarded with her heart and afraid to let Rome in.  It takes a lot of trial and error for these two to work out their differences.

I loved this story and can not wait to read Nash!

Come to Me Quietly

Come to Me Quietly is on sale for $1.99!  Get your copy today!

My review:  I enjoyed this story about Aly and Jared. It was interesting to me that Aly, Jared, and Aly's brother were all best friend's growing up. The book pulls you in because we know SOMETHING happened to Jared while they were growing up but we aren't told what happened until much farther into the story.  This book will keep you on your toes trying to figure out what happened and what's going to happen with Aly and Jared.

This book had me crying and feeling for Jared so much! I can not wait to read the second book!

Top Ten Books I Wish I Could Read Again For the First Time

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish where we make lists of bookish things!

These books are not placed in any particular order.  They are just ten books I wish I could read again for the first time!

10.  Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire - This was the first NA book that I ever read.  I am now on a huge NA kick and it all started here!  I was lucky enough to meet Jamie McGuire at RT and I now own a Property of Travis Maddox t-shirt!!!!!!!!

9. Grave Mercy by Robin LaFevers - I waited sooooooooooooooooo long to read this book!  Why did I wait so long?  Ninja nuns???  Enough said!

 8. Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl - Seriously, this has to be one of my favorite series.  It is set in the south and the story is told from Ethan's point of view!

 7. The Edge of Never by J. A. Redmerski - This duology broke me!  I had a serious book hangover after reading both books.  I couldn't start another book for a whole day after finishing this.

 6. Hopeless by Colleen Hoover - This book destroyed me!!!!  I can't believe I had it on my Nook forever before reading it.  After reading it I raced out to get Losing Hope which is told from Holder's point of view.

 5. Talk Dirty to Me by Dakota Cassidy - Another book set in the south!  This series is hysterical.  It revolves around a phone sex company and how the main characters just fall into working there.  It was such a feel good book that had me laughing and crying!

 4. The Infernal Devices trilogy - I wish I could read this whole trilogy again!  Each book help me captivated and the ending.....just WHOA!

 3. Jemima J  by Jane Green - I stumbled upon this book while I was in college and then immediately read everything Jane Green had written up to that time.  To this day, Jane Green is one author that I pre-order all her books without even knowing what they are about.

 2. P.S. I Love You by Ceclia Ahern - Yes, it was a book before it was a movie.  This has got to be one of the sweetest books ever!  I have re-read it a few times and just purchased my own copy to read again soon.  If you love the movie then you should definitely read the book!

 1. The Harry Potter series - I wish I could start this whole series over and do a marathon reading of it!  Funny thing is the first time I started the series I quit reading it.  It wasn't until the first movie came out and the ending blew me away that I picked them back up and the rest is history.  I have re-read every single one of these books EXCEPT Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.  In my mind, if I re-read that last book....it's really over.  (Yes, I know it is but still....)

So what are some books you wish you could read again for the first time?

ABOUT ME

A little bit about me:

I have been married to my husband for almost eight years.  He is the absolute best and I don't know where I would be without him.  He is my rock.  Most people don't believe us when we tell them we met online, but we did.  He "wooed" me on okcupid.com and we have been together ever since.

We have one daughter who is four years old and quite a handful!  She is JUST LIKE ME!!!!!!!!!!  Sometimes it is scary because I know what she is going to do before she even does it.  She is very inquisitive, sassy, smart, and goofy!  She is my whole world!

I have been an elementary school teacher for nine years.  I have taught fourth and fifth grade during that time but this year I am going to be teaching first grade!  I needed a change!  I have always pushed reading on my students and tried to get them to love it.  I did this by getting books in my classroom library geared towards their interests.  Each year it changed a bit and I was left with a massive classroom library that my kids liked better than the school library!  LOL!

I was born in California but I have been Southern raised!  I love Louisiana and couldn't imagine living anywhere else.  I'll complain every summer about the heat, but I'd much rather the heat than the bitter cold!

I have always been a reader.  My mom will tell you she could take me anywhere as long as I had a book and I was good. The same is true today.  My book goes everywhere with me even if I know I won't have time to read.  I am not, however, a reader that can make a list of what to read and stick to it.  I am a mood reader.  If I'm not in the mood for that particular book or genre, I won't read it.  I also read everything from children's books to adult books.

Blogging has always intrigued me and I have been wanting to start a blog for a while now.  My friend, Rebecca, keeps harassing me to start one and since I have the summer off, I figured I'd give it a shot.  I don't like really long book reviews so don't expect to see very lengthy ones here!  I do love book hauls and hearing from others about books they love!

Tell me a little bit about yourself in the comments below and what you'd like to see from this blog.
